Paintings

Painting to me when i was younger was something I purposely stayed away from. I hated even water color because It looked like a four year-old did it. But about a year ago I had some free time on my hands and decided to paint the St. Louis Cardinals logo. It took about three days but i finished it and that's when i started to love painting.

The Logo I mentioned

A logo I created just doodling at school one day at school.
The three lines going horizontal and vertical are symbols of the Father, the son, and the holy spirit

Eiffel tower
(first actual painting I did on canvus)

Logo from my newborn sisters diaper bag.
My mom loved the font, so I painted this above her bed

The second "wall tattoo" I did in my room.
It's the view from the first base side of the Baum Stadium Concourse
My favorite painting so far to do.
A black and White of New York City looking from Rockefeller center  overlook.

The K-Life house in Fayetteville.
It's painted this on a 20"X32" canvus =Huge!

My Uncle's Logo for his company.
Precision Design Warehouse or PWD.

The next painting I'm planning on doing.
I always draw the paintings out in pencil before I paint.
Go Hogs Go!
Sorry for not posting the past couple of days. We got snow here and when it snows in Arkansas. people take advantage of the situation. I decided to catch up on my sketching adventure buy showing you all my paintings I've done for the past year or so. Some are done, some; not so much. I'm not making an excuse cause I'm 6 days behind on my sketches (well maybe it is). The pictures will be up soon. Thanks for being patient

Creede, Colorado

The next sketch is of a Catholic church in a small town in Colorado. My girlfriend's family takes a trip there now and then and have pictures all over the house of this small town. Colorado, I think, is one of the most amazing places in the world. I would love to live there someday just because of the mountains. They are incredible.

This is a sketch of one of the pictures of Creede from their house. Like I said, it's a Catholic church on the outside of town, and I kind of wish my church had a view like this.

Inspiration

Just want to say thanks to everyone who has been encouraging me throughout this adventure (if you can call it that). I could not have made it even this far without yall. Thanks again

No school today! Woohooo!
I decided to draw an eye.I know, kinda random... but it's pretty amazing how God works. The human eye is just another one of the insane miracles he created.
Here is my take on it...

***By the way, I'll be posting again tonight with another sketch. I've got alot to free time on my hands.

Bank of Fayetteville

Just one of the many unique things that are in Fayetteville. The original Bank of Fayetteville is on the south end of the square and is widely known for the classic look from the street. Hope you enjoy. Sorry for not posting the past couple of days. Life has gotten a little crazy in the Ward household.

Just keep swimming

We've watched Finding Nemo for the past couple of days in my Marketing class. Needless to say the reaction from everyone is just what I thought it would be....Overwhelming LOVE of this movie. People quote this movie from memory. I laughed out loud during the turtle part. It's awesome! So because of the movie I decided to draw dory

Working hard or hardly workin?....

The next sketch was done throughout the school day Yesterday. The reasoning? The administration for Fayetteville forgot their brains and did not cancel school. The roads weren't that bad, ill have to admit, but no one wants to go out in almost zero degrees to go learn. Anyway, to make a long story short, the teachers felt the same way. So with all my free time I decided to draw the football stadium up the road where the Hogs (Razorbacks) play.

Hope you like it

Wasting life away

Today in Baseball (7th period) the coaches decided to wait twenty-five minutes to actually start practice.... agg-ra-va-ting... it sucked. They talk about how we need to "be on time". "Ready to work hard and get better". As you can tell i was ticked. This is when i realized that I'm glad God has blessed me with the opportunity of doing this drawing thing. There is a whole heck of a lot out there in the world for me to do, see, and experience. Sports and baseball can be entertaining, but not for my whole life to be about. God is amazing, and thinking of how incredible some of the things he makes, also makes me want to show them to people. I figured out today that, that is the reason I love doing this.

Hopefully I'll be able to see something like this later in life.

The one thing

Drawing people to me is one of the hardest things to do. I can't stand it. I can draw rivers, houses, animals...basically anything people request. Drawing a person on the other hand,is extremely difficult. People always ask if i can draw them, and I would love to say yes. But if the drawing comes out bad, it's more like an insult than a portrait...all that aside, last night (in anticipation of the first snow day of the year) I decided to try to draw a modern looking guy. Here is what came out of that. Not the best, but ill try to get better.

Happy snow day.

Sunday afternoons

The sketch i just finished (first one of the two for this weekend) reminds me of how peaceful things can be on a Sunday Afternoon. Dad is screaming at the football players on the t.v. in the other room (not so peaceful). Mom is taking a nap cause of the long week, and my sister is watching re-runs of a random show on Disney. This to me is the perfect time to sit in the living room and draw. Nothing to worry about, just drawing.

Revised rules for the adventure

Okay so i have realized that without rules during this whole thing i will be lost and so will you, looking at the date and number of drawings. It will get confusing.

Here are the rules
1: one sketch per day. size or randomness doesn't matter.
2: a story is told about the day of the sketch or the reasoning behind it from my life
3: Count down to how many days and how many drawings i have left will be at the end of every post
4: Post by 8 o'clock on weekdays and 8 o'clock  Sunday night with two sketches from the weekend

359 days left

361 sketches left

First drawings

When i was about nine my parents went out for dinner and had some friends come to watch me and my younger sister. It just so happened that the husband graduated with a major in art from college... At the time, i didn't draw much and what i did draw, was normally just stick figures. The guy (Kelly) showed me how to draw perspective with buildings. It came easy to me and I practiced over and over again. From then on, perspective has been one of the main themes I've loved to draw...

This is how this one turned out

Awkward

I sometimes (like the first sketch have a creative brain fart and can't think of what to draw. So i ask people around me "hey what should i draw next?' This time Sarah Pelton and my girlfriend Tara decided to say a Walrus would be the next sketch i should draw. Looking for the challenge, I started to draw. Then realized that Walruses are some of the weirdest looking animals our Lord ever created....Anyway, during the pre-game of the Sugar bowl i finished it up.

Thinking about the next semester of my high school "career", it's incredible to think that three years has gone by so fast. I know that is stereotypical for a senior to say, but it's true. I have less than five months to be a high school student with 600 seniors, some that I've known since the first day.
This is my high school. like most high schools Fayetteville High is a old, janky, teenage filled place where there are cliques, fights and sports (sometimes more fights...)
